Remington Model 51 32 Auto Box & Tools & Instruction Pamphlet |
This Hinge-top box has the 8 page INSTRUCTION Sheet, slotted Cleaning Rod, Twisted handle Cleaning Brush, and original Hardware Store hanging Price Tag!! The front two corners of the lid are split. Three labels on ends and front edge are intact and nice with minor wear. Cloth hinge is solid, but paper cover is split. The Instruction Sheet measures 9” X 12”, so it is 4-folded to fit in box. The four sheets have split apart at the spine, and are cracking at the folds. Still very legible and illustrated. A wonderful outfit I have NEVER encountered before. |

6.5” Blue |
Factory Letter- shipped June 12, 1935 to Leacock Sporting Goods, St. Louis, MO. With 6.5 inch, Blue, Call Gold Bead, Square notch, and Grip Adapter. Still in original configuration with original grips and grip adapter. Strong case colors. No wear on recoil shield, so appears to be fired very little. Muzzle wear has been touched up with cold blue, but is blended very well. Very small patch of dings on left of barrel and left of cyl. Scattered light handling marks and a very few freckles. Original grips show wear on bottom edges, tiny chips around right escutcheon, and one large ding. Looks far better than it sounds, actually being a very pretty, totally original gun. Perfect bore and action. |

5.5” Blue |
Factory Letter- shipped Dec20, 1935 to Shapleigh Hardware, St. Louis, with 3.5 inch, Blue, McGivern Bead, Square Notch, Checkered Service Stocks with Grip Adapter attached. Factory REBARRELED to 5.5 inch, with serial number and diamond in the shroud. There are NO stars or frame dates or any other factory service marks besides the diamond. I do not believe it is refinished, but if it is, it is a perfect factory job! Currently- 5.5 inch factory rebarrel, King Red Post on Reflector Base, White Outline Square Notch, and Pre-War Magna grips. Mild muzzle and edge wear, scattered hairlines and very mild handling marks- just a super nice used gun. Wear on recoil shield and ejector rod indicates moderate firing. Perfect bore and action. Strong, vivid case colors. Small patch of blue loss on bottom corner of gripframe by serial number. The Magnas are fabulous- about perfect with perfect, bright medallions. Some idiot in the past faked this gun’s serial number OVER the original number of the grips, but they are totally original finish outside. They fit as well as originals! No grip adapter of course. Very attractive gun. |

6” Blue |
Factory Letter- shipped Dec 30, 1935 Dept of Metro Police, Lafayette, IN, 6 inch, Blue, grip adapter attached. Still in the original configuration, original finish. The beautiful service grips do NOT have matching number to gun, grip adapter IS on the gun. A solid 94-95 % gun with muzzle wear and slight freckling, some edge wear, some scratches on one side of cyl, and a few scattered hairline and dings. Still far above the average police gun. It appears to have had little to moderate shooting. Bore is bright and shiny, but has some scratches I assume came from driving out a stuck bullet. It is NOT bulged. Polishing or shooting would improve it. The action is smooth and very good. |

5” Blue |
Factory Letter- shipped May 15, 1936 to Charles A. Bogard, Sandusky, OH, 5 inch, Blue, 1/10 Patridge, Square Notch, Magnas, with EXTRA pair of Magnas. I believe it to be the original finish, but it has two frame dates- 5.47 and 12.52 with a star on the butt THROUGH the blue. It is in the original configuration as shipped. Perhaps the star and dates indicate only service or sight changes- the front sight pin appears to have been driven. It is a decent used gun, showing muzzle and edge wear and light handling marks. There are four small spots of finish loss on left side of frame, and a several small spots on right side. Good case colors. It shows fairly heavy shooting, but has a smooth and sound action. The Magnas are very decent and fit well, but never had a number, so they may be the extra pair. |

3.5” Blue |
Factory Letter- shipped Feb 11, 1937 to Hoffman Hardware in Los Angeles, 6 inch blue, King Red Post on reflector base, 112 King Rear, magna grips. I have the SECOND PAGE of the factory letter. I assume some former owner kept the first page to protect his identity. The first page is always generic history, so I will provide a copy of a first page to you. Currently- A very high condition Reg Mag that has a CUT BARREL. The barrel was expertly cut, and matches the factory contour. It is cold blued on the muzzle where it was cut. It shows trace edge wear on the ORIGINAL BLUE FINISH. Strong case colors on hammer and trigger. There are three very small marks on back of trigger guard. It still has the red post on reflector base. The rear sight is a plain square notch. It is numbered 6638 on bottom, which would be the last four of another gun’s number. I am at a loss to explain how it came to be replaced on such a high condition gun. It wears beautiful smooth stag grips with small gold medallions custom made for the gun by Ken Driskill. Fabulous action and perfect bore make this the ultimate shooter grade Reg Mag. |

5” Blue |
Factory Letter- shipped July 1, 1914 to Phillippi Wishart, no address, 5 inch, Blue, Checkered Gold Medallion grips. Probably around 40% original blue, the rest faded to smooth gray patina over some micro pitting. Faded case colors. Wearing a great pair of old jigged bone grips that have been on it a LONG time. They have phony gemstones where medallions would normally be- diamond on right, ruby on left. “Delightfully Tacky” in my estimation. Bright bore with only a very few light pits. Front of cyl lightly pitted. Perfect action is tighter than some new guns. Yoke detent still present. Honest old gun. Southwestern Lawman, perhaps? I wish it could talk to me. |

Cyl, topstrap, and trigger guard have some pitting with blue loss. Sides of frame and gripstraps actually look pretty good. Cyl flutes are still NICE. Bore is bright and shiny with light pitting at rear. Action is perfect. Grips are actually quite decent. |

Factory Letter- shipped Nov 25, 1916 to Cullem & Boren Co, Dallas, TX, 5 inch, Nickel, Gold medallion grips. About 70% original nickel, but the bare steel is very silvery and blends well. Most wear is on right side of barrel, sideplate and right side of frame, and sides of cyl- a holster gun. Currently wears fairly modern stag grips. Bore is bright and shiny with a trace of micro pitting down one land. Action is perfect and tight. Yoke detent present. Never had a butt swivel. The EARLIEST, lowest number 2nd Mod I have ever seen. NEAT gun. |

U.S. Army 1917 Early |
2621 |
5.5” Blue |
An uncommonly nice example of the EARLY WW I 1917. Totally original and all matching. 96-97%. GHS initials, GROOVED hammer, and DISHED grips. “S” inspector stamps in yoke cut and on cyl and barrel. YOKE Stop still present. Bore is bright with faint trace of frosting. Very light edge wear with scattered light scratches and handling marks. Cyl has some small frosty patches where holster rust did not quite get through the blue. Grips are solid with no chips, but have some dings and scratches. I am just being thorough here- in a display 3 feet from the viewer, it would appear to be virtually mint. It still might be the best early 1917 you have ever seen. |

A beautiful Triple Lock from the WW I Brit contract. Solid 97-98% gun with the normal dings seen on Brit guns from rough handling. The most worn spot is the frame knuckle. Light set of Brit proofs- below barrel pin, upper left corner of frame, one on back of cyl, and double Broad Arrows at lower right frame corner and back of knuckle. Perfect bore and action- appears nearly unfired. ALL numbers match, including grips. Grips retain some gold wash on the medallions. They have no cracks or chips, but show handling dings. Bright case colors. You will be hard-pressed to upgrade this military model. TOTALLY original. |

455 HE 1st Model Triple Lock |

6.5” Blue |
Factory Letter- with this high number, it letters as a 44 HE in cal 455, since they pulled 44’s from the vault and converted them to 455’s. Shipped Apr 12, 1916 to Shapleigh Hardware in St Louis. Now, it really gets interesting- the gun wears a set of British proofs! There is one in each cyl flute, two on barrel breech, and one on frame at barrel joint. I also acquired this gun with a WW I leather British issue holster and lanyard. A beautiful example that shows mild muzzle and edge wear, holster wear on the frame knuckle and topstrap, scattered hairlines and mild freckles. Case colors somewhat faded, with light freckles on hammer and trigger. There are two noticeable dings- one on bottom of extractor shroud, and one on top of frame. The original grips are gorgeous with a mild ding on bottom edge of right. Both grips have dings and a scratch on bottoms from the lanyard hook. This gun saw service somewhere. Bore and action are perfect, showing only light firing. Front of cyl has some light freckling in spots from the very corrosive Brit ammo. British issue holster and lanyard INCLUDED. I wish it could talk. Fabulous outfit. |

New, unfired in the original solid border Box. I’ll call it 99% because it has a tiny scratch above thumb latch which probably came from the tools in the box. There is also a very tiny mark beside one sideplate screw made when originally assembled. It has a mild cyl ring from handling, and a couple of micro freckles along that cyl ring from dry storage. One smooth sanding blem under the grip finish is also original to manufacture. Just being thorough- it is a beautiful Mod 28. Box is bright and clean, but has a tear at one thumb cut. It has the wax paper, Instruction Sheet, Warranty card, and complete, Unused tool kit. NICE gun! |

Transition Model 1926 44 Military 3rd Model |
S 63098 |
6.5” Blue |
5 Screw Model 1926 TRANSITION (Post-War Long Action)- Factory Letter- Shipped 10-3-46 to Schwabacher Hardware in Seattle, WA. It was one of 50 units. We know these were used by the Washington State Police. They marked them “Washington State Police” on the backstrap, but they always removed the markings prior to selling them. 90% with light muzzle wear, most wear on cyl and triggerguard. Backstrap is gray, because Washington markings were neatly removed by the state. Butt Swivel was installed through the serial number by the factory, and number restamped under the left grip, though the invoice does not show it. That would be because they included them on this large police order for free. All numbers match. Original Transition magnas with matching number. Bright bore and great action. RARE barrel length in a rare Transition model. Very early Transition. |

There is some noticeable freckling around one cyl flute, right edge of trigger guard, and right lower edge of frame, along with a small spot on sideplate. The front sight has been very neatly ramped and serrated. Trigger serrations have been polished smooth, but some case colors remain on sides. Perfect bore and fabulous action. This will make a great shooter/toter. The mint, correct diamond magnas are not numbered to the gun. |

The barrel was professionally CUT to 4 inch, and the muzzle cold blued. The front Patridge and ramp base was reinstalled with two pins, and the Patridge cut into a ramp blade. All this is very nicely done. For some reason, the bottom rear corner of grip frame is very slightly rounded. 5.5” Blue |
I bought this gun used in 1975, but it predates 1970. The original barrel is a 5-1/2” Heavy Barrel with Lazy ampersand. It is in the original Box with papers, wax paper, extra mag, cleaning rod and screwdriver. Solid 98-99% gun with only trace muzzle and edge wear. Has a 1” hairline at left muzzle that is not thru the blue. Faint rubs on sides of slide that are not thru the blue. Normal tiny ding from slide stop. Right grip has the thumbrest edge smoothed down, but you cannot tell it is altered- looks NICE, and feels GOOD. Solid border box is very decent with one broken corner on lid. The gun has the OVERSIZE trigger guard that was offered as an accessory installed. |
